    For me to consider Bruce’s point…I’d have to understand the character of God that would support such things in order to try to accept it. I don’t know if it is possible to understand God’s ways, which are higher than our ways (trying to answer “why” God wouldn’t do it differently is a bit on dangerous ground, I think)…but without having something to go on…I don’t like the character such a teaching would paint about God dealing with His children.

    Is God following justice so our stations in this life are just according to our prior performance in the prior life? That seems very Calvanistic to me. Can we overcome trials in this life? Or do we just accept our situation, because God has judged us?

    Is God unforgiving? Even if we are trying to be good and righteous in this life, He would restrict our blessings based on prior performance in the prior life?

    Because these do not make sense to me, I do not know how I can accept them. Which makes me think it was just wrong and we cannot make excuses for it without become racist ourselves.
