😮 :silent: I try to overlook it cuz he is a good guy.
Yes, the difficulty here, as is being pointed out in a couple other threads at the moment, is that we have only the printed word without the benefit of body language and expression and immediate feedback that we have in personal conversation. I do fully understand and share your concerns, Haven – I’m just not going to do anything about it, either, because I have issues that are bigger to me at the moment.

I think that is an unfair statement of an Apostle in the church, startpoor. While you may not agree with his association with WCF, do you have any sources stating he is “promoting hate elsewhere”? Let’s be careful of wide general sweeping statements, despite this being a difficult topic.
Haven, it sounds like Erika Munsen and the Mormons Building Bridges group is equally aghast at the proposal to have Utah and the church associated with this organization. I know nothing of this group…have you checked it out at all? Do they have anything you can get involved in to help voice your position?
And please keep posting here with us…there may be some people here who share your thoughts or at least appreciate being educated by what you are finding out about this topic. It’s an interesting one. I wonder what if any world humanitarian groups will get involved.

GuestMaybe Elder Oaks doesn’t know what the organization is supporting elsewhere. Or maybe he does, but like Roy said the positives outweigh the negatives. Very possibly I’ve donated to an organization that promotes ideas I don’t agree with so I’m just as guilty. I feel so badly about the human rights violations in Africa (not just this one) that I was just shocked to read on LDS.org that members support the organization. But I’m getting over it. -
