Does anyone particularly troubled by Section 132 feel this way, too? I want someone who’ll bring the issue forward, a serendipitous someone who will spark change. I’ve been impressed with Reed Smoot’s part in moving the church past open, still-continuing-post-manifesto polygamy at the turn of the century. He was patient, persistent, professional, prayerful, appealing, appropriate, and accomplished. He didn’t command respect; he received respect willingly given, because he also gave in return.

Kate Kelly didn’t seem interested in “temple probs” or 132. I don’t think the Van Allens are going to get or seek any more attention. I don’t know anything about Lindsay Park Hansen’s relationship to the church right now. I get that in some ways, this isn’t “the way of things” in the church, but is that really true? Seems like when you dig into history, there are pivotal people on which so much hinged.

We need a fresh perspective and approach. I move to draft Mike Myers.

For me – I want a myriad of Hero’s or a Hero who will work on changing a myriad of things. Before 132, I want Christ focus returned to the center of our efforts, dialogues, etc. I believe LGBT families and friends want a hero for them – inclusion without judgement or dismissal. Single members want a Hero who will stop making temple marriage and eternal families the only viable option. Many people want money to stop being attached to covenants. Or Heavenly Mother, what about her? All of these need a Hero.

As a social unit the church has a list of issues that need Hero’s. Maybe we are supposed to be the Hero’s. I don’t know, but like you I have my hopes. Right now I just hope I can have enough patience for my hopes.

And I second the Hawkgrrl nomination.

Well, if we are following Roberts Rules of Order, looks like Hawkgrrrl is the Nominee.
