We thank Thee, O God, we are prophets With guidance in these latter days.
We thank Thee thou sendest the gospel
And light’nest our minds with its rays.
Oh, that we were were a Prophetic People, and not just a People with a Prophet!
I agree, Tom, but I like any song that talks about enlightening our minds with its “rays”. 
I always thought it said “Lighten our minds with it’s Lays.”
which didn’t make much sense to me, but that’s what I thought it said.
Potato chips can be enlightening, I guess – and that’s the interpretation I’m using. 
Love it! I take a lot of new meaning from old material now that I truly see myself as a “prophet.” I always knew that in the past. I didn’t truly understand it and experience it until going through the “dark night of the soul.”
I’m with Valoel. We all prophesy (in part) and we all receive revelation. There is not “one” prophet or 15 “prophets, seers and revelators.” We are all prophets, seers and revelators in our own right.
