GuestI had a powerful moment in Sacrament Meeting today. Despite the typical regurgitation of GC talks each Sunday, we heard a small musical number “He Sent His Son” from the Children’s Songbook.
Because I was busy keeping my toddler quiet, I wasn’t listening to the first part of the song (which I have sung many times myself), and was only able to tune in for the very last part. THAT was the part that hit me with gospel truth. I could have said, “AMEN” and walked out of the room right then feeling uplifted.

What’s funny is I so desperately wanted to pull out my phone and log into this site to share it with you all right then and there. lol.
We need a virtual Sacrament Meeting here on StayLDS.
Well, sans the actual sacrament.

Anyway, the part that I wanted to share is this:
Quote:What does the Father ask of us?
What do the scriptures say?
Have Faith,
Have Hope,
Live like His Son
Help others on their way.
Isn’t that exactly what we need to do?
Have faith that things will get better and that it will all be worked out in the end.
Have hope that we are not forgotten and that our questions will one day be answered.
To become like God and Jesus.
To be charitable and kind to others and to help them on their way…whatever way that may be (within reason…no aiding and abeding).

Thanks for letting me share here.

GuestI hadn’t thought about that song in a long time, thanks for sharing, QA. I do believe you (and the writer of the song) are right – it states the gist of the Two Great Commandments, which is IMO the core of the gospel. December 16, 2013 at 4:43 am #246786Anonymous
