    Someone who has more understand, can you please look at this one and give me some interpreations:

    D&C 42:80-83.

    81 But he or she shall be condemned by the mouth of two witnesses; and the elders shall lay the case before the church, and the church shall lift up their hands against him or her, that they may be dealt with according to the law of God.

    We talking about a sustaining vote to say: “Hey,…John Doe over there messed up, and we are raising our hands to expel him from the congregation”?

    Excommunication for adultery used to be done by a vote of the congregation.

    Issues with the current situation notwithstanding, I like our model now better than that.
