GuestThe part I liked was after she went to the temple, she wanted to go back home where there were people, even though it was messy and disorganized. My thoughts when reading her passages was that having a room in your house that is always organized, neat, and peaceful serves the same purpose the temple serves — at least for me. It was about getting into the celestial room to enjoy the beauty, peace and tranquility. But even then, I routinely had people telling me not to do things I was unconsciously doing. And I found it annoying…
Interesting — she talks about bad behavior that has occurred in the temple. Our Bishop told us that people would often steal the glass drops from the chandaliers/lamps that adorned the end tables in the celestial room. I thought that was amusing — they had just come through a massive ritual regarding spiritual cleanliness and then crowned it with stealing a piece off that lamp in the celestial room!

I’ve also wondered if someone entered the name of a beloved pet on their family group sheets & had temple sealing done for them.
(a little weird I know.)

GuestI doubt, highly, that theft of any kind in the temple is a common enough occurrence to say it happens “often” – but, people being people, I have to assume it does happen. it is bizarre, but people are bizarre. September 28, 2015 at 4:04 am #304514Anonymous
GuestSome theft is more due to mental illness than deceptiveness. I imagine that there’s a strain of mental illness that steals a trophy from the celestial room as a way to keep the divine tangible. Or something like that. -
