    Some policies are stupid.

    This is one of them.

I think it will change in time. I have seen it happen that way more than once – every time it has been atrempted in areas where I have lived.

I also am blunt enough to tell the MP I am disappointed that I and so many people I know won’t be able to feed the missionaries anymore. It’s intentionally a bit passive-aggressive, and I am okay with that.

I have tried to move away from passive-aggressiveness, but there are situations where it is an appropriate behavior given various constraints/situations.

When I say vote with starvation I mean most people simply can’t feed the missionaries at this time. Even if the wife is preparing the meal (a big if as many women also work), the elders won’t enter the home until the man arrives anyway lest the woman seduce them while cooking for them. Women are vile temptresses who will either slake their lust on you or will falsely accuse you. Don’t trust them. Any of them.

As you can see, there are a few missionary policies I don’t think much of.

On Hawkgrrls point – A few months ago I overheard 2 different senior women in our ward give the Ward Mission Leader an ear full over this type of policy. One woman is single, over 65, and enjoys having missionaries over for home made cookies or dinner. She is on a fixed income so full dinners aren’t a great option, but now she can’t even have the elders over for cookies or a chat. She said, “Look I have a bad back, bad hearing and arthritis. What I am I going to do to 2 twenty year old kids. I am the one at their mercy when I invite them in.”

The other woman has an atheist husband. Because of his status she can’t feed those hungry teenagers.

Older women are the worst. They even keep their shoulders covered and it gets them nothing.

Slake? Now there’s a word you don’t hear much anymore. 🙂

Some of us lust for pimply awkward missionaries; others lust for obscure words.

Yes, the lust spell for pimply missionaries is stronger than even 2 elders in a companionship can withstand. Must be supervised by adults. Garlic hung around the neck is also helpful.
