Does anyone have a link to a site where you can read the “Forbidden/Lost Books of the NT” online? I’ve been searching for one. If I’m not mistaking, the links shared above do not provide an online copy of the books.

I downloaded them from a free kindle phone app on my droid. They have about 2500 online books that are free on the phone kindle app. Most are crap…but there are a few gems.

Maybe he wasn’t fully literate. He is shown disputing the scriptures in the synagogue at age 12, which implies literacy, but perhaps he didn’t have the means or experience to write well. Son of a carpenter implies to us he was a tradesman, but the word for carpenter that is used in the Bible is not a skilled trade – more like “itinerant construction worker.” Remember that for millenia, adult literacy has been a very low percentage of the population. Only in our day is it common.

Actually it was pretty high amongst Jews.

And there is also indirect evidence that he may have been aware of Greek drama. The word “hypocrite” comes from that source, and there was a major Greek theatre in the area he came from.

Thanks! I hadn’t even thought of that yet.
