I believe in Christ because it has worked for me sometimes. The biggest thing is that I attribute my personal experience of transcendent forgiveness, that everything will be OK at some point and I am loved and accepted by the universe, I credit a large part of that to trying to understand, practice and emulate the life of this figure we call Jesus Christ. I don’t know for sure anymore if any of the details or history are factually true. But I know it worked. It worked for me at least. At some point, I decided that’s pretty much all that matters. I exist! And I know I am a lot happier than I used to be. That is for real. If I start doubting my own firsthand sensory experience … I don’t know. That’s too far down the rabbit hole for me.
It’s a trap when we start thinking our way right out of good experiences and changes. We can be a little too clever
I no longer worship Jesus, as I used to. I don’t believe he intended us to… “Why callest me good? None is good, save God.”
I believe he is a beautiful ideal, that Christ is not his last name, but what he became & taught us to become.
This becoming is more of a new perspective (gospel/good news).
I think Jesus’ story is not as much historical as it is a symbolic spiritual lesson for the journey of spiritual awareness & healing.
I believe in Jesus’ way because I don’t know many other ways & I was raised believing in Jesus, so I resonate most with ideas of him.
I think I need to believe more… to have more hope to be able to tap into the infinite well of love Jesus taught about.
