Why do you stay?

I suppose I’m lucky with my ward ET… if I had to put up with some of the stuff you have in your ward, I would either leave or go somewhere else. Some of what you’ve told me I’ve been horrified by. I guess I don’t have the family baggage. Being in a decent, friendly, open minded ward is a bonus, deffo.

As regards our church, all branches/wards are equal, but some are more equal than others.

I stay because the people who drive me nuts are almost always better than they look when I get to know them. I stay because I love the theology: Heavenly Mother, pre-existence, open canon, ongoing revelation, theosis. I stay because I “get” Mormons. I stay because I’m a better person for being a Mormon (I can’t say I’m the best Mormon there is or that I even want to be, but Mormonism makes me better than I would be without it).
