We went to church sunday and of course we were late to our new ward…we pulled into the parking lot and nobody was there just a few cars..great, we drove all that way for nothing? and then…some guy came out to his car and we asked if there was service and YES there was…but not until ten!

our new ward starts a 1/2 hour later than our old ward. SIGN ME UP!

i could not believe how friendly everyone was. at least a dozen people hugged us and introduced themselves, offered to babysit, etc.

weird. i’m only used to nasty judgmental mormons, not nice ones!

i was in tears by the end of sacrament. one of the talks was about genealogy and they said that sometimes you will find things in history that you will wish never happened, that you will hope are not connected to the things and people you love…but that you have to accept it as just another piece of bark on the tree, and move onward and upward. you have to let it go and follow your heart and not be disheartened if you get stuck somewhere along the way.

wow. talk about talking to me. my husband said it was the first time he “felt the spirit’ in 3 years. :-) we didnt stay for all three meetings because our almost 2 year old flipped his lid 1/2 way through the second hour. i am actually looking forward to relief society. i know. its crazy. its more than crazy, its like…twilight zone freaky. there were actually people under the age of 65! i met 4 other mothers of kids under 3. my son had other kids in nursery (not that he cared or noticed, he was too busy freaking out) but still.

anyway. just thought i would share.

That’s wonderful to read. I hope it continues to be such an experience on a regular basis.

That is great to read. I especially liked that they acknowledged the problems in church history and showed you love and acceptance.

Thats a cool story. It is interesting sometimes how much the experience can vary from ward to ward. The organization and material may be correlated, but the experiences vary as widely as personalities of individuals vary.

Good for you. Here’s hoping next week is just as good!

I can’t tell you how happy I am for you.

This is what church should be like.

You should come to our RS. While we have a fair few old ladies, I think most of our RS is under 60.
